I'll be honest. I've spent years trying to find a healthy balance with alcohol. But if you live in a city like Berlin, where grabbing a Wegbier (a beer for the walk home) is completely normal, it's not always easy. During vacations and certain phases of life, my drinking quietly crept up, affecting my sleep, weight, and overall well-being.
So I started tracking every drink. But the apps I tried were clunky, required an account, or focused on calories and money instead of how alcohol affected me. And one thing always bothered me: a night out doesn't magically end at midnight, so why should the statistics?
I've been building software for over 25 years and have always loved analyzing data. Eventually, I built the app I wanted to use myself.
KATER ZERRO lets you log drinks with a tap or Siri – and shows how alcohol relates to your own health data, like sleep, HRV, and more.
No judgment. No medical advice. Just a better understanding of your own relationship with alcohol.
In German, Kater can mean both a male cat and a hangover. Zerro is a playful take on zero.
It's official: the app has been approved by Apple and is now ready to download.
